Who Defines Marriage?

• God defined marriage (Genesis 2). He did not leave it for humans to decide.

• Moses and the prophets explained the significance of God's definition. Everything outside of God's definition is sin, perversion and depravity.

• Jesus affirmed God's definition and affirmed that the definition was actually from God (Matthew 19).

• The apostles affirmed the significance of God's definition, every time the issue came up. (It wasn't their purpose to simply re-quote the entire law and prophets, so some issues are not explicitly mentioned.)

• Therefore, since God has defined marriage, and through the prophets and apostles, has explained its significance, humans have no right or authority to invent their own definitions.
