Psalm 23

The LORD is my Shepherd; I will never be in need.
          He provides me a resting place in green pastures.
He leads me beside peaceful waters;
          he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths,
          for the honor of his name.
Even if I were to walk
          through the valley of deathlike darkness,
I would fear no harm,
          for you are always with me.
Your rod for protection and your staff for support -
          they reassure me. 

You prepare a banquet table for me;
          my enemies can only watch.
You anoint my head with the oil of blessing;
          my cup overflows with abundance.
Surely goodness and love will watch over me,
          all the days of my life.
And I will remain in the presence of the LORD
          always.
