Most of these passages focus on the general concept. But there are a few passages that emphasize ''specific aspects'' of worship, such as ''praise''.
==Scripture Pages that Link to Here==

'''[[Genesis 4:1-26]]'''
:In the days of Enosh, people began to call on God - probably referring to group worship.

'''[[Exodus 20:22-26 ]]'''
:The fact that God is in heaven must influence our worship. Nothing man-made and nothing distracting is to have a part in it! (This includes the requirement that we dress in a way that does ''not'' expose our nakedness.)

'''[[Job 1 & 2]]'''
:The proper response even during times of disaster: When Job lost everything he owned... "Job arose, and tore his robe, and shaved his head, and fell down on the ground, and worshiped."

'''[[Psalm 95:1-11]]'''
:Praise and worship to God, because 1) he made us, and 2) he takes care of us.

'''[[Psalm 105:1-45]]'''
:Praise and prayer; expressions of devotion and loyalty to God. Why? Because he keeps his covenant promises to his people.

'''[[Psalm 106:1-48]]'''
:God's mighty acts of power are completely worthy of the greatest of praise.

:Regarding the prayer for deliverance, at the end of the psalm: The ultimate purpose for this deliverance isn't centered on themselves - "so that we may feel good and be happy." (This is the reason that most people want out of unpleasant situations.) Rather, their motives are ''God''-centered: so that they may give God the glory, honor and praise he deserves!

'''[[Psalm 135:1-21]]'''
: Why praise God? (Why obey the command to do so?) Because he is good!

'''[[Psalm 146:1-10]]'''
:"I will praise God!" (Worship - the expression of the psalmist's heart.)

'''[[Psalm 147:1-20]]'''
:Psa 147:1 Praise Yah, for it is good to sing praises to our God; for it is pleasant and fitting to praise him.

:Praise of God - not only a command, but also the most appropriate thing to do! (The verses that follow this one give many examples of praiseworthy things God does.)

'''[[Psalm 148:1-14]]'''
:Psa 148:11-12 Praise Yahweh ... kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the earth; both young men and maidens; old men and children:

:For humans, praising God is a ''moral'' issue. Since humans bear the [[Image of God]], it must be a ''choice'', rather than an ''involuntary, unconscious act'' (as with many other entities of creation). This is the way humans were created to function; and ''to not praise God from the heart is to sin''.

'''[[Isaiah 1:11-17]]'''
:God ''hates'' religious activities, when they become meaningless rituals, and do not reflect the attitudes of the heart.

:Isa 1:15 When you spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you. Yes, when you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood <nowiki>[injustice, evil, etc.]</nowiki>.
