:Adam's sin resulted in physical changes that affected all of creation. Because of the expression of hope (given in verse 15), the blessings of creation were not totally removed and utterly destroyed. Instead, they became subjected to a condition that is described elsewhere in the Bible as an ongoing state of "frustration." Now, the fate of creation is inseparably linked to the fate of the humans. But just as it suffers because of the humans, it will also be wonderfully restored (and more) when the "new" race of humans - the people of God - are revealed - Romans 8:19-22.
