The first of the "Two Greatest Commands" - the other being "Love for Neighbor." All the moral obligations given to humans can be summarized by these two commands. For example:

*In the Creation Mandate, the obligation that points most clearly to "Love for God" has to do with our need to "set apart one day in seven as special." (The other obligations have implications related to "Love for God," but are more directly related to "Love for Neighbor.")

*In the Ten Commandments, the first four commands point most clearly to "Love for God," although the other commands have implications that would relate to that focus. (To some degree, all the commands are interrelated.)

Leviticus 26:1-45
:The commandments given here as the prerequisite for being blessed by God are best summarized as "Love for God." When a person has "Love for God," it will result in specific types of conduct related to God.

Deuteronomy 11:1-28
:You must love and obey God.

:You know how God judges the wicked... you must decide between obedience (resulting in blessings) or wickedness (resulting in judgment).

Deuteronomy 13:1-18
:Deu 13:4 - "You shall walk after Yahweh your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cleave to him."

:False prophets test the people, to prove whether or not they will do this.

Micah 6:6-8
:(The third of these obligations falls into this category.) Mic 6:8 He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
