<p><b>New page</b></p><div>The book of Ecclesiastes is about ''truth''. It explores, ''truthfully'', the significance and meaning of life. <br />

It's ''truthful'' conclusion is this: If our basis for living is found in ''this'' world - if our focus is just on "life under the sun" ... ''then there is no lasting significance or meaning.''<br />

Why all this emphasis on the word ''"truth"''? Because many people misunderstand this book, and think it is "negative" and "pessimistic." Or they think that the perspective of this book is the "imperfect best" that humans can come up with, on their own - perhaps having value only because of some verses in the last chapter (which tell us to focus on God).<br />
<br />
In reality, this book presents ''God's'' perspective on life: Certain ways of living have more practical value than others, even if you look no further than this life. However, '''the things of life are without ''lasting'' significance, if you ignore God!''' <br />
