==The Need for Reminders==

*People constantly need reminded of important things! This is especially true when it's something that people tend to not enjoy hearing.

==Comments==

* The purpose of reminders is to bring to one's attention something that is important. It may be something that the person already knows, but it needs to be in the forefront of their thinking.

* In 2 Peter 1:12-15, the apostle Peter tells us one of the reasons we need reminders: Peter was about to die, and there were certain things he needed to make sure the followers of Jesus would ''never'' forget. Though they knew those things very well, he would constantly remind them, so that those things would be firmly embedded in their memories.

===Examples (from 2 Peter) of things we need reminded about===

* In the context of these verses, we discover that some of the teachings we need reminders about are: 1) how followers of Jesus must live (previous verses), and 2) how false teachers would come and distort this truth (chapter 2).

* In chapter 3, we also learn that we need reminded about these truths: 1) the wicked will mock Jesus' promise to return and judge the world, and 2) the judgment will come in spite of their mocking.
