Do not misuse the name of the True God.
- We must have an utmost reverence for who God is and for everything about him.
 - As with the other commands, this command represents an entire "category" of attitudes and actions.

Leviticus 19 (selected verses)
- Lev 19:12 " 'You shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of your God. I am Yahweh.
 
- This is connected with verses about lying to other people (Ninth Commandment). The two are often related.
