NOTE: For some of these, the word "Environmental" may be a better choice, instead of "Ecological." (Can be changed later.)
Perhaps the focus here should be on events that result in a permanent ecological change.

- Disaster (this may become a "parent topic")

See also: Ecological Judgments - This may be a temporary page, collecting verses that refer to misc. judgments that are: 1) small in size, 2) (potentially) ecological/environmental in nature, and 3) not listed elsewhere.
Scripture Pages that Link to Here
- A comment about the Jordan plain - fertile at this point in history (where Sodom was located)... but that would change in a few years.
- Gen 14:3 All these joined together in the valley of Siddim (the same is the Salt Sea). - The names of everything changed after the environmental devastation!
- Gen 19:24-26 - Then Yahweh rained on Sodom and on Gomorrah sulfur and fire from Yahweh out of the sky. He overthrew those cities, all the plain, all the inhabitants of the cities, and that which grew on the ground. But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.
- The concept of ecological destruction is used as a picture of what the nation would experience. (The "trees," etc., were the soldiers.)
- A warning about a coming judgment: God is going to devastate the earth and scatter its inhabitants. All people will be affected, without respect to social rank. (The next section explains why the judgment is coming.)
- Description of God's judgment of the world - a judgment that will affect even the stars. (After this judgment, a time of blessing that will come - see chapter 35.)
