- This occurred after the ark had been brought to the newly-built temple, and just before the temple was dedicated to God.

God's presence in a thick cloud. This is not a reference to smoke from the sacrifices (as the ark was being brought to the temple), but to a visible manifestation of the glory of God. |

Solomon (and the rest) recognized the cloud for what it was. |
