You don't need proof that God exists, because you already know that he exists. Though you may lack some of the details, a basic awareness of God is hardwired into your consciousness - an awareness which you suppress. You also have an awareness of the sinfulness of your conduct - your conscience testifies against you and makes you aware of the fact that you deserve to be judged.
--- --- --- ---
People already know that God exists, but the deliberately suppress that truth.
- God's existence is declared by all creation. (Psalm 19; Romans 1)
- Humans are created in the very "image" of God. (Genesis 1)
- Humans deliberately suppress the truth they know. (Romans 1)
When they demand "proof," it's normally a waste of time giving it to them; because they already have proof... and they have rejected it!
- The issue isn't "lack of proof," but their unwillingness to respond rightly to the proof that they already have. For good examples of how to respond to God, see: Responding to God.
In other words...
- There is no such thing as a genuine atheist or agnostic. They might not have a full understanding of who God is, but they know something about God, and have suppressed that knowledge.
- However, there are moral fools.
- Psalm 14:1a - The fool has said in his heart, "There is no God."
Scripture Passages that Link to Here
- Scripture starts out with God. Genesis begins with "God created"; not "Here's proof that God exists."
